About us
All for the kids
We are a century-old Brazilian institution that provides social assistance through the reception, monitoring and comprehensive development of children and adolescents in situations of vulnerability and social risk.
The socio-educational work carried out in an interdisciplinary and cross-sectional manner is based on universal human values: Non-violence, Truth, Peace, Righteousness, Love. All of these values are addressed through practical strategies, focusing on a theme essential to life on the planet: sustainability.

1923-2024 - A century-old history with no political affiliation
Our institution is the result of the efforts of young members of the Homcie Youth Society, who immigrated to Brazil, mostly from the city of Homs, Syria.
With the aim of giving back to Brazil for the welcome they received and the prosperity they experienced, this group founded the Lar Sírio Pró-Infância.
Founded in 1923, originally under the name “Orphanato Syrio”, it took in five orphans. Today, no longer an orphanage or shelter, it serves 1,000 children and adolescents daily who benefit from the opportunities for coexistence and professional development that the institution provides.
On July 10, 2023, the institution turned 100 years old and continues its mission of providing support and affection for children and adolescents who need it most.

To promote citizenship and the fight against inequalities, through assistance work that aims to support children and adolescents in a state of vulnerability and social risk.

What we do
From Monday to Friday, we provide more than 6,000 daily assistance services to children and adolescents aged 4 to 18 in the socio-educational, psychosocial and complementary health areas.
We work with the Coexistence and Bonds Strengthening Service during after-school, offering meals and activities involving art, culture, leisure, sports, the environment, and social development.
We also support professionalization through technical training in partnership with organizations such as SENAI, SENAC, SEBRAE, INSPER, Instituto Professus, ACI and ESPRO to offer the opportunity for adolescents, young adults, and families to prepare for productive inclusion and income generation.
Governance Management 2023-2025
With transparency and aiming to be in tune with the global agenda proposed by the UN through the Sustainable Development Goals, we integrate social workers with causes aligned with the institution's purpose, in order to make a true social impact with their social practices.
